Ive only just joined this so please persevere,my dad has just bought a starview 7 box and wants me to set it up,i understand i need to flash it,could someone please explain what i need and how to flash it please,

there are guides on here, it is prefered if anyone with a question does some research before asking, as most questions along this line has been answered before.
if you cant find the answer then dig deeper! but if still cant find the answer,....

download and stick the firmware for the box onto a usb stick (formatted to fat32), insert into starview7 after coupling up all cables etc.
boot the box (not literally) and press menu on remote go to usb and find carling file, highlight and click and do a all software update... box will flash then reboot,,,, bored of typing but do a scan turn ustream on etc etc,,,,
search for the guide!

Don't bother with the groovrider file.

Oops, that's for a HD combo, similar process, just slightly different firmware
