Default starview newbie

help required,my eurovox went of recently and was told that a new box had come on the market called starview 7. what i want to know is this, do i just plug and play ? i have my tv,broadband and router all together in my front room and my provider is virgin media, can i request some info please, thanks.

Hi Bigun240, have a read about the boxes available, none are plug and play, you have to put the firmwear onto them, read about the kv780 and decide yourself, I have the kv780 and very happy with it. Both boxes will work with your set up.

thanks for the reply andy, i really do need the help.so am i right in thinking i get a box then install the firmware which i assume is available on the net ? then hook up to my set-up and away i go with all the channels i use to get through my eurovox ?
also is the kv short for kryptview box ? i am a quick learner once i get going but need a shove first lol.

if they have done a cab audit and you dont pay any subs, they may well have disconnected you.got this from another post

Yes you get your box then flash it and everything you need for the firmware can be found either in the starview thread or the kv which is kryptview780 thread, all boxes have to have the internet connected to watch tv with a router and yes you get all the channels, the Kryptview does give you more channels than the starview, espn, racing uk, at the races and a few more. Let us know how you get on and if you have any more to ask.
