My Samsung Tv is playing up! The contrast keeps turning itself up to 100%

and even when you alter this in the Menu, shortly after the screen goes black and its turned back up! This is baffling and any help would be greatly appreciated

My mothers Samsung LE37R8 has also developed this exact fault. It also happened in mid November - has there been a software upgrade broadcast?

I have found that you can run a factory reset but you need a pin number which I cannot find.

I would also appreciate any anwers on this one.

Have you tried the samsung website?

Thanks for the link Mickha, unfortunately I have already spent a lot of time on this site but with no joy.

It seems the only way you can get any support if it's not listed is to ring up - no email address.

Since I last posted I've found the pin number - all are set with a default of 0000 - and carried out a full factory reset. I've also tried to manually update the software - all without success.

Back to the drawing board lol

i had this problem and found the tv was in 'shop mode'
press the info button on your remote and it will tell you.
if this is the problem simply press one of the volume buttons on the tv (not the remote) so the bar appears, then hold the menu key on the tv in for about seven seconds. this will reset the tv, it should show dynamic mode. put back to standard and then check on the info button that it is no longer in shop mode.

if u still got warranty on your samsung then u may want to read this and get it fixed. think you got a faulty telly.
