Default Multiroom and the connection to the other box

What happens with the second sky box when you remove it from the common phone line. How often do the 2 boxes need to talk together.

I ask this because I would like to try setting up my dream box and want to know if I can use the multiroom card to practise on.

I understand there must be some restraints to stop people using multiroom cards at another address but want to know how long you get before you have problems.

Default Re: Multiroom and the connection to the other box

The boxes in multiroom don't talk to each other, they talk to high command, I think about once a month, but I may be corrected on that. If you are just experimenting with the Dreambox then why not go for it. I think Sky will inform you asking why the second box is not connected to the phone line before they do anything.

I suppose on a warning note if you are doing anything outside the parameters of your Sky contract then you have to expect a little inconvenience.
