Comag/SilverCrest Good all-round receivers, some of which are 'patchable'

Default newbie questions

Hi peep's newbie here asking for some advice, I bought the sat system from lidl a few years ago and it's been sat around doing nothing, so anyway I set it up the other day for my shed, managed to find Astra 2 I think and plenty of UK channels although many are repeated, anyway the software date is 2007 and I am guessing there is an update, so I tried doing it via the satalite option but every time it fails, I don't know what kit I need to do it any other way so I thought I could do it the easy way but at the moment i'm struggling so any advice would be a great help
thanks

If it works and does what you want, it doesn't need updating. You will just need to get your transponder list up to date and re-scan.

If you are intent on updating it, I would imagine that it could be done via rs232 and a null modem, check the Silvercrest/comag website to see if any updates are available.
