Hi All,
I have a samsung lcd TV and over the last 12 months it has developed a large black burnt in smear on the left hand side of the screen. Found this thing called a pixelprotector DVD do these things work or are they a waste of money? |

It sounds to me like your TV has developed something known as screen "burn-in". This is where a permanent imprint of a specific part of an image "stains" the screen. Find out more about it here.

I wouldn't use anything like that but it's up to you. If it's cheap then you could take your chances. Your TV isn't knackered, you probably won't even notice the burn-in after a while. I only notice the one on my screen whenever a black image is displayed.

this mark is not a small one... it is about 20cm long (vertical) and 5cm wide. The mark doesnt seem to be the remenance of a program logo or anything like that and is also visable at all times not just when image is black.
It really does my head in... ![]() Ah well, think I will give the DVD a try and see how it goes... Thanks for your help anyway!
