You dont really get many unencrypted channels from VM. They really dont have a "freeview" type service for non-customers.
All you can expect are the basic BBC/ITV/C4/C5 plus a few news channels and various selling channels. If thats all you need then I'd guess you should get quite a few offers ! |

But as coder said you get hardly any free view channels from VM apart from the basics.

Well, if thats what you really want, then there are some Starviews going on eBay for about £25. Failing that, why not purchase the HD box from VM?(One off fee)-It has a lot of free channels, and some in HD

The one-off fee,for the V HD stb,is for activation of the HD channels, and not the outright cost of the V HD stb. |

I know they dont "sell" their receivers, however my cousin got free HD channels by "purchasing" the box for £50. The OP could quite easily get free HD channels if they "bought" this receiver

seems pretty good to me as it is. also fleabay r selling virgin hd boxes-if a purchase was made-will they be ready to go or am i missing summin obvious--all rather cheaper than £100 cheers p.s just read this on cable chat Nope, not possible to legitimately buy a V+ box from any supplier other than Virgin. If you do then Virgin will simply refuse to connect the service to it and insist that they supply the box themselves, leaving you out of pocket to the tune of the one that you bought from eBay and still having to pay Virgin for the box. Careful with that, the two houses will almost certianly be on differant phases, one fault and it's quite possible that someone will have a shocking experiance to the tune of 415v !

Hi Rick, we done this recently on a house under construction, the line voltage to the LNB is only 15DC or there abouts, both propertys were on different phases, all working fine. if one house develops a fault, the max backfeed would be 15volts.
