Just what do you mean you set it on set up/ Have you checked the jump connection on the end of the HDD, it might be on the wrong?
Regards Wez

If it's SATA, jumpers aren't an issue because each SATA port determines which drive is which. For example, SATA port 0 would be master and every port following that will have secondary drives on.

What operating system are you using. The disc may just need mounting so the operating system can see it.

if the drive is a secondary drive then you need to go into disk management and assign a drive letter, file system and Format it.
Only then it will appear in the list of your drives when you open '' my computer'' To access Disk management Click on start > Right click on my '' My computer'' > select manage > and then from the left pane click on '' Disk management'' Alternative method: Right click on '' my computer'' icon on your desktop > select manage > disk management.

hi, have you checked it in the BIOS after connecting it to your computer? The new HDD whether it is SATA or Parallel you have to make sure that it is been properly connected to your motherboard with the right jumper setting . Once it has been checked in the BIOS then move further for any work.
