Default Where were the gritters???!!

This Nov snow, doesn't seem too bad, but not very successful travelling by car in this neck of the woods. This must be the worst Ive ever seen it, usually the motorway/main roads are OK. Hadn't seen a single gritting lorry around.Must be al the cutbacks I suppose.

There's me being synical thinking that they were trying save money by not sending them out. The reports from Met office were clear, there was gonna be snow. 5 hours in a traffic jam because of a jackknifed lorry is no fun, glad it wasn't me. Going to get the wife a chelsea tractor next time!

No gritters, no bin men and no posties here...

And I'm waiting for something important to come by mail.

No bin men and no posties I can understand, they couldn't get here because all the bloody roads are too slippery because they weren't gritted.

Saw a few HGV type vehicles today that were having a bit of trouble getting moving.

Even I wouldn't expect the posties to do their round in this weather but the bin men do nowt these days. The lorries do it all. A friend of mine's a bin man. Its a brilliant job these days.

I was surprised when I was at Asda yesterday to see the number of delivery trucks. They're the ones which shouldn't be going out in this.

Brilliant for the bus companies though, everyone's too scared to drive. For the last 2 days rush hour has been dead.

Maybe just people taking the day off from work? I'm surprised that after last year the councils were not a bit more prepared this year.
