Task Manager disabled

My task manager has a "task manager has been disabled by the administrator" message. How did this happen and how can I correct this?

start > run > gpedit.msc

• User Configuration
• Administrative Templates
• System
• Ctrl+Alt+Del Options

Double click and select the option ''not configured''

you will now enter the group policy edit and from there you can enable the taskmanager again.


You have to be the adminstrator of the PC for this to work.


if that doesnt work and your on XP then do this:

Click Start, then click Run, type in regedit, and click on OK.
Expand these registry keys in turn:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER
• software
  
• Microsoft
• Windows
• CurrentVersion
• Policies
• System

Right Click on the DisableTaskMgr item.

Click on Delete, confirm that you want to delete, and Task Manager should be available once again.

Hi friends,

To fix the error "Task Manager disable" you need to enable Regedit and for that you have to navaigate various commands as HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f”.
