tried that, still not working
HS Net Status = Disconnected
IP Setup = Auto (Everything 000.000.000.000)
Server = All Off

Do i need to register the box or something?

You are not getting the IPaddress from the router!! you need to check the cable and if have a laptop conncet that to see if you get internet through cable

It sounds like you need to reset your sv hd combo, Then manually input the mac address! The mac address is on the inside of your box, you can see it through the vents on the top. Cos you've put the latest firmware on you won't be able to manually do it now, that's why you'll have to reset your box to the original firmware. I did the exact same then i had to buy a serial cable to connect my box to the pc to reset it, but it did the job.

If your IP setup is complete, when you goto the server connection and you press connect it will automatically connect you, should take 15-30 secs to load! If it keeps on the 'connecting' screen your IP setup isn't completed properly!
