Question HTC Desire HD

Hi guys! I got this phone a couple of weeks ago and its pretty immense. Anyway, I notice that you can group your contacts into favourites, friends, family, VIP etc. However, is there any way of creating a profile for a particular group of contacts like family? The reason I ask this is that I can set this profile when I'm asleep so if someone needs to get in touch with me in an emergency, the phone can ring on loud rather than being on silent like it usually is.

Any assistance would be much appreciated guys!

Kimi.

I've basically worked out a round about way of achieving what I wanted in my original post (kind of!). The phone allows you to block calls from certain contacts from your address book so before I sleep, I block calls from everyone except my family. This does the job but will prove problematic if someone calls me from a number I don't have stored in my phone or if they call by withholding their number.

finally got this fone and I have to say its totally amazing!!!!

Tested out a few apps

One is SMS bomber, Call blocker and VNC and they work like a charm I have too say

Also tested out the Anti SMS blocker as well which worked a treat as well.

apart from that its been a pleasant phone and by far the best phone I have used in a long time.

Oh and last but not least even tested a few FTP softwares and they work amazingly so well as well.

There seems to be a dark area here.

Sadly haven’t got the option to assign ring tones for each group.
even if u do so , when phones on silent mode it wont ring.
But to answer your issue, since you can assign ringtones for each indivdual caller. Set a loud diff ring tone for family callers and the rest as default. Set a mild tone like just a beep for your normal mode. Leave ur phone always on normal mode.
so when others call it will always only beep and vibrate.
if family calls, will be on your loud ring tone.

hope this idea helps .
