Default netid

I have moved, bringing my fixed 4000n box with me, my new place has had virgin installed. Should my netid be the same as my virgin box is now showing? - 41061.
thanks

Depends - moved from where to where?
4000n is an Ex C&W area, you may have moved to pure n*l area etc

Your Netid should be set for your new location. AIUI, in Pure NTL, the boxes pick this up automatically.

There is a list of known netid's here - http://www.techwatch.co.uk/dbox2-eur...-cable-tv.html

thanks for replies.

I have moved from London SW3 (EX C&W) to London W11 (Notting Hill Gate), so far I haven't been able to find out what Netid area it is.

Is about 2 miles north of old place, anyone know how I can find out?

thanks

It could easily be the same - have you tried the box to see?

Well I finally got some channels, been trying to get my box working for 4 weeks, not sure if maybe I'd got them before but not noticed and is a random selection: sky movies 1-4, eurosport, asian channels, radio channels celtic and rangers tv.

No bbc's, itv's or sky sports - I've tried re-writing my cards, leaving for a couple of hours and resetting the box but always same channels, any ideas??

BBC and ITV are unscrambled, they work without a card. It could be a signal problem - I've seen something similar on a box where the first 5 channels worked and then nothing until Sports extra. I thought I had fooked up with the card and tried numerous times until I found a working channel, moved the box to another cable feed and all channels worked

In your case, as you have some Sky Movies and Asian channels, your card is working - Do the other channels remain black, or don't they appear at all? If they are black, it's likely a signal problem, if they don't appear it could be the netID.
