Default Toshiba L300 Trouble

Hi Everyone, I have had a look around and cant find the answer to this so starting a new Thread. If there is one feel free to point me to it and delete this.

I have a 12 month old Toshiba L300 with the problem that when i plug the charger in the power and charge lights come on, When i take the charger out they stay on and i have to take the battery out to get them off. It also boots for a few secs then turns off. I don't think its taking a charge.

I have tested the charger and tried a battery on it.

Any help would be brilliant.

Thanks

Alan

just had an l300 with a similar problem mate,
the problem on this one was caused by the inferior cooling where the bios controls the fan which only kicks in when the cpu reaches a certain temp.
the heatsink covers the vga card aswell as the cpu and the heat problem had caused the vga solder to fail, i dismantled the laptop and reflowed the vga with a heatgun which fixed it.
it would also be a wise move to wire the fan so it's permanently on.
hope this helps.

matt.

Thanks for the reply, Took laptop apart and turned it on and for the 20 secs it was on both the fans where running, Should only one be running until it gets up to temp?

Thanks again
