Default eurovox max 3 (crackling noises)

Sorry to bother you.I have just registered with this forum in the hope I will be a frequent visitor in the future.I have eurovox max 3 which is great and i persuaded my brother in law to get one.Unfortunately although he has managed to scan in channels and get a good picture, he has a loudd crackling sound on each channel instead of volume(there is some volume although barely audible).
Was wondering if anyone could give me any idea if this is easily rectified, any info would be gratefully received

sorry dont know as it is second hand information, I imagine it may be a scart lead but that is only an educated guess. Any info appreciated.

whatever leads he uses he used the same ones to put his ntl box back into operation when his eurovox failed to work and his ntl box went fine .

One suggestion is to make sure his scarts are plugged in fully and correctly on both the TV and the box. Sometimes if you have a dodgy connection between scart and TV you can get crackling.

thanks for your replies. My brother-in -law got the box working. It was the tv it was tuned into that was at fault, once he switched it to his other tv there was no more crackling and perfect volume.
