Hello
I have just joined this forum. I need an advice and guideline that how could i use Samsung SMT 2100C (Vergin Media V Box, NTL Home) box for MMDS (Multi Channel Distributing System) channels in Pakistan. The Key features of the MMDS are as under: The service is delivered using terrestrial based, radio transmitters located at the tallest feasible location in a metropolitan area. · Each Customer obtains the MMDS signal with an exclusive, small, digital receiver placed at his/her location. · SNL has been assigned a frequency band 2556-2619MHz and 2668-2689MHz (channels of 7 MHz each) for the cities of Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. For Karachi, a frequency band of 2550-2690 MHz (20 TV channels of 7 MHz each) has been assigned. · Sun TV’s coverage area encompasses a 35-mile radius from each of its MMDS transmitters. · MMDS frequencies allow Southern Networks Limited to provide precise, clear, wide-ranging, signal coverage. http://www.suntv.org/index_files/page0003.htm MMDS subscribers are provided a digital receiver with Nagra Smart Card and a terrestrial antenna. Pls advice that how could modify/patch this box for MMDS channels. How to copy original smart card and make a funcard. I have two Fun 4 cards and two programmers (Mastera 3 and Multiprog XL). The answer is, you probably wont be able to do it as the firmware is really quite VM specific. It looks for certain VM markers like original provider Id etc, not to mention various special control streams.
To even try it you need to know exactly what your MMDS system is. There are two common systems in use. One utilises a dvb-t stream whilst the other utilises a dvb-c stream. If your system uses dvb-t then forget it - you need a terrestrial receiver rather than a cable one. If the system is dvb-c then the MMDS downconverter should shift the frequencies into the cable band (90Mhz - 850Mhz range). You will need to know the correct NetId, the default frequency and the symbol rate for that region. You will need to program the box with the matching NetId possibly using the 'funcard' method. At that point you may get something if your very lucky but I really dont hold out much hope of it working !!! |

U sould just look at sat and C/S or buy a box for your area and look at the cards and how you can mod the card or use a fun card strait of it the card dos not need to be paired with box!!
