Laptop, blank screen (Inspiron 1525)

Hi, a laptop has a blank screen. However an image is displayed on an external monitor. How do we establish whether the screen itself, cable or inverter is at fault?

The screen is completely blank, there is no flicker or feint picture.

The laptop in question is a Dell Inspiron 1525.

if it was the inverter then you would know by shinning a bright light on it and you would then see some pic but not all.

Then its most likely that the inverter has gone.

However its best to test it out if you have spare parts @ hand then that way your 100% sure.
