It seems to of been slow for a while tbh but intermittantly. Looks like the initial web page connect is handled quite quickly but then there's a pause (often of a few secs) before the page builds. Possibly it may be a slow database response or something when there's a few concurrant requests.

Same here mate, only more than a few seconds. Now im only on for the first time tonight and it seems fine. At times lately i'd click on the last post on a certain thread and it loaded for a minute or more and at times i even aborted.

No DDoS - we're a busy website, and sometimes we get traffic spikes that will slow the server down a little - however, overall, the server is beefy and TW is generally running fine. I regularly login to the server back end to check the load, and while we sometimes get hit by a bot (latest from Reuters, strangely enough), usually is manages fine and any slow down tends to be very temporary.

I suspect the slowness may be partly down to routing. It seems far worse on some providers than others and also seems very time dependant. When the US wakes up, the site seems to slow !

I'm not sure its the main site thats slow either. It seems almost as though the site loads and then stalls waiting for something else to happen. Maybe its some 'external' graphic or tracker cookie reference or something thats slowing everything down.
