Default Any point keeping my Starview 2 box?

Its been dead for a few months now as we seemed to one of the later areas to get the N3 switch over.

Obviously the box is now redundant and not being used. Is there any point keeping it in hope of a future fix or is it fit only for the skip?

I'm thinking it just needs to go in the bin, but thought i'd ask here first.

Thanks in advance.

If I were in your shoes, I would keep the box for if a fix finally is created. Alternatively, you could just use it as a Freeview box for the kids or something (assuming you have kids lol) .

Lower a word of advice, if you going to buy a starview 7 and you watch football its pointless. Even if youve got the best internet and strong signal cable line it'll be bad. But if you dont watch footy the box doesnt really have any problems.
Keep that starview 2 incase but i dont think a fix will be coming

a friend of mine with a sv7 watched the football at his house and there was no glitching at all!
its easy to come along and slate a box when the problem isnt with the box at all!

chances are the net at your end is dodgy or the feed is dodgy or there is something else at your location causing the loss in signal quality.

as this wasnt a uk wide problem then blaming the box seems a bit harsh.

ive seen these boxes working and they are usually very stable and good boxes, only when there is a problem at the house with the feed or the net that glitches occur.

where are you located? if your close ill come and fix it for you!

regards dave

fetching the thread back on to topic

what you do with the box is entirely up to you but I don't think there will ever be a fix for it.
The box is not a freeview box its only FTA which is very limited and those channels can be received with any digital aerial

think i posted a list of channels i still get, a few weeks ago...not as good as f/view, but for the size of the box, just pop it in a drawer... you never know.... your great-grand kids might find it useful!!!!

there wont ever be a fix for n3,,,, as sky has been n3 for years and no-one ever has been able to hack it then the cable side wont ever be hacked, there have been underground coders working on hacking sky (non cs) for years and have come close but not close enough.
the only way is the way it is now (cs).

you can wait untill your fingers fall off from decomposition but itll never happen lol !!!!

throw away any old boxes they are coasters or expensive clocks now.
