Question Help with Uniplat usb programmer

Hi all, am new to Techwatch. Just started getting into cable & satellite, find it all quite a challenge, am learning, but realise that I have a long way to go. I have acquired a Uniplat usb programmer, but don't have the driver software for this & wondered if anyone is able to help with this. My PC OS is XP, but I can also run earlier versions of Windows. In fact any help at all (manual, specification, etc) would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi galileo259,
welcome to the forum.

I haven't heard of your programmer but it's probably a basic USB programmer for programming fun cards, unfortunately these are of very little use nowadays as most satellite/cable systems are secure.

What are you trying to program?
What are you hoping to open?

Hi Mickha
I was hoping to be able to program some kind of card, maybe a fun card to put into the slot of my cable box to prevent having to clear the "your card isn't present" message when skipping between Freeview channels.

Hi again Mickha,
should maybe have said FreeCable instead of Freeview, will get used to the terminology eventually!

You might be able to turn off the message in the receivers menu, or at least change the setting, limiting the time, the message is on screen, you can with satellite receivers.

Hi Mickha, thanks for advice, sorry to have taken a while to get back, have had flu. Went into engineers menu on my Samsung cable box, but unfortunately there is no option to turn off or change timing of messages, but thanks anyway.

I think he is aware that is doesnt work anymore, he just wants to get rid of the message when switching the few channels left on the cable box. Not sure if you can do it with a funcard, but the rumour is an original mosc card with the Box key written to it using an old image for your area. Can you do it with a funcard, not sure.
