Default Credit card fraud: O2 (Nelson)

Just a heads up that my g/friend got a call from her credit card company fraud department - apparently today someone bought a £20 top-up for "O2 (Nelson)" on her card today.

Obviously, she didn't pay for it, the credit card company flagged it up, and she's been able to check her statement and ensure it was fraud.

Just a heads up that at this time of year especially the card fraudsters will be very active.

However, if you have a credit card used fraudulently, don't panic - the card will simply be cancelled and a replacement sent out.

There are a number of ways this could have happened, from dodgy online retailers, compromised cash machines, compromised data storage (even at the bank), so don't worry about it - the card payment you didn't make will not be accepted, and you shouldn't lose any money from this.
