yep its been confirmed , o was aware of the 12 months then death when i bought my starview and so were a lot of buyers that asked me to source them a box, as mentioned due to most people not having a lot of cash they decided ( the options were there) to buy the cheapest box available untill they/we were sure the new cs system worked and was going to be a long working system before spending hard earned money on a longer lasting box.
the starviews ive supplied all work flawlessly ok the odd glitch we can live with, and when the 12 months is up then most of my customers will come back and buy a sv7 rather than a kv as they know as well as i do that for £2 a week its a good deal.
ok the kv is a one off payment but as ive read on the forum recently the kv servers are being overcome and their service is going downhill fast, if anything the sv server has got better and better over the last few months.

it is true that clio1 does tend to slate the sv but hes a kv user, thats what kv users do and also sv users slate kv,,, lol thats a normal reaction.

everyone is allowed their opinion and also they may air that opinion on here in an open public forum. dont take it to heart , if thats what they think then thats their choice.

personally i have no problem with any other box that i dont own, my sv is brilliant and my mates kv is also brilliant.

at the end of the day im happy just to have the choice of channels again, unlike a few months ago when all i had to watch was freeview!

even if it means spending £100 or so once a year i think its more than worth it.

i hope the kv servers get their act together, i can foresee a problem with a never ending service as the servers get fuller and fuller they will of course be a degraded service. but thats how it is.

anyone that gets pi**ed off with the service can always buy a sat cs box and move over to a private server that is usually glitch and freeze free!

anyone that slates starviews should come and look at my set up, maybe a couple of little glitches a day which is usually down to the net rather than the server, usually its trouble free and im more than happy with it, if i had a kv i would make sure everything was in place to make the box work at its best but if the server is full then problems will come and theres not a lot we can do ,it has to be the server creating more servers to allow for more customers.

lol didnt mean to write a book but it seems ppls tempers are getting frayed at the edges,,,, we should all be grateful for the chance to have all of these channels to watch, whether its crap or not isnt it better than nothing!

regards dave

id also just like to say,, clio1 is a respected member of the forum and knows his stuff!
maybe he does slate the sv a little but everyone has the right to their own opinion, id buy him a drink anyday! and im a sv user lol!

people have a limited budget and the difference between spending £100 and £150 can be huge to anyone on a low income.
so those people choose to buy the cheapest box available. if thats all they can afford then thats how it is.
at the end of the day its the servers responsibility to supply a good service whatever box a customer buys. be it cheap or not!

I agree with everything Dave is saying, I have a kv in the front room and the sv combo+ in the back room, my lad watches the kv and rarely has a problem! I think both boxes are brilliant in their own way! I just hope that neither go downhill as up to now I have been very pleased. I have watched some good premium tv and hope to continue, its been said before if you want 100% tv all of the time pay vermin £50+ a month! I know I won't!

Nobody knows what will happen after 12 Months. I can tell you 100% that the HD Combo can use other servers for cable
