Starview HD+ new software

Has anyone tried the new software for the above stb? What does this one do? I was wondering if it give us the expiry date details? I can't try it yet as the Tv is tied up! Better EPG?

yeha ive heard it gives us the die by date!
ill give it a try now see what it does and get back on here, hopefully the sat epg will be imprived now that would be a bonus!

right its been confirmed,,,, the new firmware gives you a die by date!
mines saying 25/11/2011 which isnt right as ive had it longer than a month but im not complaining,,, now im just waiting for the epg to fully come in before i test that so not sure if thats been improved yet, its usually middle of the day when the epg fails bismally!
but so far so good i have a deffo date for death and the firmware is very solid.

now to check the epg...

Just put the new software on, the only date I can find is in Network, HS Net Status, it says 2011-05-01 is that 1st may 2011?

Just had a look, EPG on cable is now much better, 7 day EPG all working, on Freesat side still rubbish lol! Also noticed on TV guide HD channels are yellow text, SD and channels down are white!

yep thats yr date mate.mines 25/11/2011 which isnt right but im not complaining, i think ive made about 5 payments to my cs server so i know ive had mine longer than my date!

ill class it as a bonus lol.

only difference i can see is the hd channels are highlighted and the date,, epg sadly remains the same,, unpopulated!!

oh well maybe the enxt software update will sort the epg!

on the cable side ive never really had much problem with the epg, i use that just because the pg is good, ill check mine to see if the cable epg is better now.

My EPG was never that good before, now it is excellent! but I did have to press the red button while in EPG to download the new EPG!

I've updated mine to the Carling+_F531_1207.uad but still no date in Network options

Very odd. I like the way the HD channels are now yellow though

Mine also says 01-05-2011. I only bought the Starview Combo+ on the 2nd of December 2010. It was brand new, and all the wrapping were untouched. Either I have been shafted by the seller or Starview!
