Default when the server goes down for any length of time REBOOT!

as the title if the server goes down or your net goes down and your box comes up scrambled before posting on the forum "channels gone" panic panic, try waiting a short while then reboot your modem/router and then your box.

if something happened down the line sometimes the box will need refreshing with a reboot, treat it like a mini pc, if it crashes do a reboot to sort it out.

most times a reboot will refresh the ip address and the connection to the server and the box will come back on. of course if the server is stil down it wont come back on but keep trying from time to time as no-one really knows when the channels will be back on. its called trial and error!

if mine dies i usually give it 10/15 mins then i reboot everything and check the connection status in the network menu.
if that says disconnected its either my net playing up or the server is down.
then freeview gets used.

so before you panic and the world ends remember a rebooted box is nice and fresh!

we all know the server does go down now and again and its usually only for a very short time but its bound to happen. lets not complain or moan as we should be happy to get what we get!

its the same for the kv lot too, and recently they have bene having more and more trouble with their server. as a group of humans we should all stick together and help each other out.

happy new year everyone, lets hope the new year brings us all a glitch free tv experience.

regards dave

Default Re: when the server goes down for any length of time REBOOT!

Just to add guys the easiest way to reboot the biox without moving is press fn next to the mute at the top of the remote and reboot option pops up.....

works a treat..... i do it quite often and my net as i like to keep my connection fresh....

hope this helps guys if your box is in the wall like mine all flushed and nicely sitting away....
