Hi
I have a starview 7 had it all connected and working fine. I have moved it too a new house with broadband etc exactly the same set up as my old house. The broadband signal is coming through homeplugs as it was in my old house. When I set it up this afternoon it says scrambled on all p channels. I have loaded it with carling 1.04, now at the bottom of the screen it reads ip error?? Any sugestions? Thanks |

Yeah, i have checked that i pulled out the fuse and the sockets upstairs and downstairs all went off, I am goin to get a 10m cable and put it straight from the modem to ther back of the box to check it, the computer is c onnecting to the internet ok, could it be that I have taken the box from one ip address to another??
Also at my old house i had the cable coming from a wireless router, now it is coming straight from the ethernet socket on my modem would this make a difference?? |

ive moved boxes form house to house with no problems,,, you could reflash it at the new house see if that renews the ip.
but check where yr testing it if the router is set to dhcp that way it would assign an ip addy to it auto. or you could set the ip up manually , ive heard that helps too. good luck regards dave

You could try rebooting everything. First the Modem, then the Router, then the Homeplug nearest the Router, then the Homeplug nearest the box and finally the box itself.
That message appears when there is an IP conflict or no internet connectivity.

i was going to advise rebooting everything which im sure will refresh the ip but i thought the op would have done that 3 or 4 times allready and got nowhere.
but maybe im jumping the gun! thats just a common sense thing to do before adding a new device to a network isnt it? regards dave

I have tried rebooting a few times, and tried rebooting in order but still no joy, I am starting to think i either have a dodgy cable or router maybe?? When I go to network and ip setup all the info seems to be there. I will try to enter the ip manually and am going to try a diff router and cables, tested the homeplugs next door and they are working fine so it is def not them either.
Thanks for all the help so far this is starting to drive me mad lol |
