One Hour Lease

Hey everyone, for the past few weeks anytime i try a working mac i get a one hour lease then the modem goes from operational status back to ranging complete and just hangs there. even log is the same everytime

anyone else experiencing this or know whats up?

thats what were all experiencing.

basically, your modem gets an hour lease so it can get updates, respond to commands inside the config (such as the frequency its told to use) ect, ect.
when your modem doesnt respond and stays the same it doesnt get a new lease as its more or less proved a clone.

I can also confirm im experiencing this,modem reboots on average every 12 minutes and shows up new config. Seems we can just either put up with it or used subbed modem,i personally a light user so get by easily on a dongle but the modem was ideal for downloads especially with an old 20Mb mac. I even tried opening the config in vulture war and copying stealth but made little or no difference.

well this sucks

after the hour lease expires do you know how long it is before the mac can be used again. i usually try a few days later and can get on again for an hour but i have so few usable macs now that even switching between them doesent keep me online for long

looks like the free ride is finally over

After noticing several members with the same issue i changed the macs i use to 00:20 and followed this guys advice. not had any single problem at all and been solid for 16hours....

also sigma 13.5 stealth working for the sb5100, and sigma 130 working on sb5101e and s/a 2100 etc

the main thing is to have a good list of macs to test from various neighbouring ubr's etc
