after a huge demand for sims from another thread ive decided to add this thread so anyone wanting a new sim to save the mobile internet costs can click a link and get themselves a giffgaff sim through me which will also give them £5 in free credit when they topup and activate the sim supplied by me.

basically you click the link apply for the sim (up to 3 of them i think) when the sim comes you buy a £10 top up and go onto the giffgaff site to activate the sim card. if you got your sim through me you then get a £5 free credit.
you now get free internet on that sim just for topping up untill the end of february but this free net is limited to about 100mb a day.
if you want unlimited mobile internet on your sim then go to the giffgaff site and change your £10 balance to a £10 goodybag, the goodybag doesnt just give you propper unlimited mobile internet for the month it also gives you 250 minutes (special promotion, its usually 150 minutes) and unlimited texts for a whole month!
you can use the sim in any o2/unlocked mobile phone, but also the sim can be used in any o2 unlocked dongle, the settings for the unlocked dongles can be found on the giffgaff website.
i use a huawei e220 unlocked dongle which gives me 7.2mbps rather than the usual 3.6mbps and you really notice the difference!

its one of those hard to beat deals which a lot of people on this forum have asked for sims so as it was so popular i decided to make this post.

you can easily spend £10 for a months internet with other companies ie o2 but its easy to use up your quote/allowance in a week. even 3 gig or more can be used up quite fast on the net.

these sims are truly unlimited, ok if you use it to death they will send a message asking you to slow down a little but they dont cut you off or start charging you huge amounts of money per mb.

ive had one of these sims for a year or so now and have used it daily with my netbook with no problems whatsoever.

so i decided to spread the word!

this is not an advert i do not work for giffgaff or o2, it seemed everyone should have the chance to get truly unlimited internet and minutes and texts for a good reasonable price, instead of being ripped off by the big phone companies offering 3 gig for £15 a month with no extras!

Are there really no terms & conditions on the internet that makes it something less than unlimited ?

There's usually something in the smallprint somewhere that places a limit on what you can do so if if this offer really doesn't have such terms & conditions it would be an amazing deal !

I can immagine they may sell such a package based on the assumption that bandwidth usage will be relatively small on phones (thus the real limits would never be reached) but if everyons starts using dongles on their PC then I cant see it being technically possible to support the bandwidth requirements with the equipment the telco's presently have in place hence my being a little dubious of the offer

An interesting development though if it truly is unlimited.

they usually only take a few days but of course the holidays dont help...

it also depends on your area for speed of delivery!

and yes to the question about usage, if you top up and buy the goodybag then the internet has no limit as per usage. of course if you try downloading movies they will not be happy but normal everyday surfing/facebook etc is ok.
my daughter uses youtube for her music and can easily spend all night on there.
the goodybag really is no limits!
its only when you top up and dont buy a goodybag you have a 100mb limit per day.

thats why i recommend the goodybag to everyone.

like i say if you order a sim or two or three and they dont arrive in a few days let me know or try the link again.
