Default HD tv

I have an Acoustics Solutions HDMI telvision, model LCD26NK750HD which has never given any problems. Attached to it is a Humax PVR-9150T which also works satisfactorily. What do I need to add in order to watch HD transmissions? I don't want anything fancy like watching dvds or hooking up to my computer and the Humax can already record much more than I need. From what I can gather from online searches, which can be confusing, I should buy a set top box, but what type? Cost is a factor. I think the picture is good. Is there any point in upgrading? Of course, if the tv breaks down I expect I will be told it is not worth repairing and new one will have a HD tuner built in anyway.

There isn't much of an advantage with having HD on a screen below 32", though some may disagree.
If you still want to upgrade to a HD source then maybe give some indication of your budget and someone one here can to help steer you in the right direction.

Thank you for your reply. If I knew what piece of equipment I needed to buy I would then be able assess whether it would worth my while to buy it. Your comment that you don't think there would much benefit is interesting. I thought there are programmes on Freesat that I would be able to see.
