have you any splitters in your setup or any kinks in cable i know this may seem silly but in laws had a similar problem it turned out loose connection where it came into the house. Also have you a relative or some one else where you can check your box on their setup

Cally, from what I have read in the past your signal is too high, I can't remember what the item is to use, might be a resister? It lowers your signal level to the correct settings needed.

I think the people saying signal too high are missing the point. He said that its always been that high, and its been working fine untill now.
So i cant be the signal.

I would say, is your net woring fine ?
try rebooting the box.
or try deleting channels and scanning again.

I know they're obvious things, but it might just work.

the problem appears to be related to signal or maybe dicky tuner or interference

go back to basics and connect direct feed to box ie remove any splitters etc. and double check connections.

also as a last resort as already suggested your signal strength could be too high, you could try a 0-20 db variable attenuator

as an addition to above

disconnect from internet and check quality on FTA channels
also if you still have or can get hold of an old box you could check to see if symptoms persist on FTA channels
try a different scart

Smoggy, it is happening on the FTA channels as well!

When I first turn it on it is ok, then 10 minutes or so it starts to break up, then just eventually freezes....
