Post Simpleton stuck!

Hey Guys,
I used to have a tube tv connected upstairs which had a virgin box attached (all was well til I got an lcd tv with inbuilt freeview). I now have a 1080p lcd set up with virgin box via scart (whats the point!) The previous tennants must have had virgin installed upstairs, so I have a splitter for tinternet & tv but i want a normal aerial end to put direct to the tv and ditch virgin. Can anyone help with this? Frustrating isnt the word!

You can get an "F Type Connector Socket to RF Coax Aerial Female Adapter" to connect to cable, but you would prob only get channels 1 to 5 or maybe none at all.
If you want to use tv's built in freeview its best to get a terrestrial aerial fitted.
I thinks this is what you mean.

I do have an terretrial aerial, would I have to get an aerial tech to come out and fit me another lead to upstairs? the only real aerial lead I have is down stairs but a little white virgin box upstairs which the splitter is attached for tv & internet.

I assume you're using the terrestrial aerial connection downstairs, a simple solution would be to get an aerial booster/splitter box, they're very cheap and available even in some supermarkets.
You can then run coax connections to other rooms, including one to your bedroom.
