all i know is you use cat5e and the colours for the connections is on the back of the pannel/module so you cant go wrong.
avoid flourescent lights when pulling them above ceiling tiles. on new builds, girder clips are good. cable tray is handy too. it takes some working. you'll be pulling 4 or 8 cables through at a time so get that many boxes of cat5... say you customer is using 4 module's per data point... get 4 boxes and write 1-4 on the box. also, write 1-4 on the cable in perm marker or go daft and get a label maker. start at the comms room patch point and pull them to the points. (the furthest away first, you'll see why later) before you cut them, lable the box end with the same number so you have 4 cables, labled 1-4 at one end and 1-4 at the other end. then scribble out the number on the box and replace with 5-8, do the same again and take them to the next point. label at the box end before cutting. what you want to do is have it so there all sequential starting at 1 up to whatever going in some sort of direction. you dont want numbers 5-8 being inbetween 21-25 and 33-37 ect. its not always possible like that but do try. remember 100M is your max run.

Perhaps you should explain what you mean by data cabling, as the above is one option, installing cable for networking.
Are you more interested in the telecommunications field? |

Forgive me for sounding thick mickha but I thought they were the same thing lol I was thinking laying cat5 at first then maybe fibre optics and go into networking but at the moment I need to get my foot in the door so to speak as I said the courses are quite exspensive so getting someone to take me on is probaly my best option I have a valid cscs card and a sissor lift licence but it's not ipaf.
