Default kudelski anti piracy team monitoring these sites

just be aware of what your saying i know a lot of you probably already knew this

What do hackers have to say about STBs incorporating these new security mechanisms?
Here are some excerpts from hacker forums monitored by Nagravision anti-piracy teams:
• “There is currently no way to test* these new
IRDs**.”
• “These new boxes have no JTAG connections
on the mainboards thus you can’t get the
boxkeys, dump the firmware, erase sectors,
etc.”
• “The flash memory chips are also in a BGA
package which makes it hard to find out
which ball/contact goes where on the main
board. This makes... removing the chip/s to
read the boxkeys more difficult (as if TSOPs
were not hard enough to remove) as you
require special tools to remove them.”
• “With all this said it is best to stay away from
these new IRDs unless you plan to sub with
one of them.”
* ”Testing” is a term commonly used in on-line forums as a euphemism
for hacking.
** IRD (Integrated Receiver/Decoder) is another term for STB

thats an excert from there own website

I have been saying this for years, all forums are monitored all the time where do you think they get their info from, not from doing their own homework they dont need to do anything, just sit back implement something and wait and see what people post you will always get a result just what they want to see, then if that works they try something else and watch the post pour in, so its nothing new.

Pretty obvious stuff really !

...but if Kudelski are monitoring sites like techwatch looking for any technical information as to what 'hackers' may or may not know then they are in for a BIG disappointment. I'd guess some poor tech guy is near suicidal from the sheer boredom of sifting through all these posts !

btw, it wouldn't suprise me if a lot of disinformation gets posted on forums just to keep things interesting

ps. I've just been informed that if the Kudelski engineer would care to identify himself then we have a good source of prozac he may be interested in , as well as maybe answering a few tech questions for us

Which is why any serious discussion is reserved mainly to forums that have been locked for many years and between members that have been members since BBS beginnings...

This is why some are able to do and others are not..

I could not agree more with you, this and other forums are only for those not privileged enough to get into the real hacker forums. You will never be able to get anything of much use here, everything on here is for us less well in the know peps.

People who have spent years and great amounts of money are not going to give up their secrets to us or any other public forum. Sorry to burst the bubble of a lot of people on here who think that they will find a sure fired way of getting loads of stuff for free, there is no such thing as free, for everything there is a price, be it in hours put into it or cash. Those buying boxes with sly free for a year are not getting anything free, they are paying for the box and from what I have read concerning them they are not getting any great deal, all you need do is read all the complaints regarding KV and Starview boxes, they more trouble than they are worth, as far as I can see, from the countless complaints threads and posts therein.

If someone on the closed forums were to post the cr*p you see on here, from some members, they would not be on there long, but then again they would not be allowed anywhere near such forums in the first place.

So you see, they can all have their spies on here (NDS would have more retired Mossad spies working for them than any other) and similar forums, and what they find out will be precious little.

Regards Wez
