You get a year guarantee with the box not channels, as soon as you put software on the box you invalidate your warranty, there was NEVER EVER a warranty on how long a box would last or a server, the box could last a min, an hour, a week, month, year nobody knows and this is for all boxes including the sky card share ones as well.
