sounds like a connection problem, have you had any other boxes in use there before?
is prob say theres an extra splitter killing the signal somewhere,(either inside or outside ).. have a check at all the connections and cables for dirt or breaks etc. let us know how you get on. regards dave

[QUOTE=lee11168;574349]sorry for being thick but whats an attenuator
On some ppls boxes the signal is to high and when it is to high you fit a attenuator to you cable lead which lowers the signal and makes the box work. |

This happened to mine not to long ago, done everything I could think of..... Eventually found problem was a faulty f-plug, so change that and see what it does.........

I don't know how well the Internet through a STB works, I would have thought it's much better to get a SACM (Stand Alone Cable Modem). You could tell VM that you want a wireless Router & modem and see if they will send you one, you may have to upgrade your net speed, but probably worth it.

It's speed rather than volume that's important, you need a fast ping.
I thought that 2Meg broadband was dis-continued - contact VM for a proper modem, tell them you want the 10 Meg.
