Thumbs up USBjtag/spi circuit aka BlackcatUSB

Hi

Well i made some dongles for my PS3 which are pretty much surplus now!
So Blackcat usb software/firmware is pretty much everywhere. And i was
wanting a usb jtag for my modem.

Ejtag

SPI

Completed and working for Ejtag - SPI untested.

Eagle circuit

I've used this to re-flash modem and worked fine.
If i get SPI modem i'll test again and post back.
Just remember SPI 3.3v not full USB 5v!! So i warned you
I would suggest cutting track where power comes in (USB)
Then take power from target. I'd leave GND connected.
That would work for Ejtag to.

The eagle layout does work, its what i used. Not very pretty
I haven't put a jumper on it. I'd already made mine before i started this.

FYI dealextreme have some very cheap teensy type boareds.
Go for one that uses all pins on MCU.

Something like that would be good !?
Do hope you find it useful.

btw I have another option but haven't built it yet.
It should work with all software needing a LPT1 port but using usb!
And part count is very low.

Phil

Default Fully Working : USBjtag/spi circuit aka BlackcatUSB

I've looked on dealextreme and 'PS3 Jailbreak' $9 is at90usb162 based and pins exposed. I'd personally go for one shown, if i was buying one but i made my own So for less then £10/20 could have usb Jtag/Spi programmer with fairly simple software.Could even use it for programming Atmel avr's and don't even need any special hardware to get it working!! Just a USB port
Oh LEDs will most likely not do anything!!! Bugger
<<<<<EDIT>>>>>
UpDate :

I was able to re-flash ambit 256 eeprom MX25L160. Appears 5v was ok as well.
So happy days!

And in regards to other option i'll not make one, not needed.

Could i also add the guy doing software has made it open source.
So maybe make a 'Donation' to keep it open source, he has bills too
