Default Help please.

Hi, I've got a Starview HD Combo+ and have been trying to connect it to the net for a while, I've connected my router (S*y broadband) and installed the latest Carling firmware for LAN. The HS Server status says disconnected but the LED on my router is blinking. Also my IP setup is blank except the MAC address which is fine. I'm located in Swansea, Wales if it helps. I'm literally going to introduce my box to Mr. Hammer if this keeps up. Any help appreciated, thanks!

Yeah I noticed that the CSNet option has gone missing since I updated to the 28th Dec firmware. I've done the 8989 Key edit thing. It's had no effect on the network. Even before I updated, the box said disconnected when I tried connecting to CSNet.

sounds like your router isn't assigning the IP address to your combo.
Do you know how to manually assign an IP address by logging into your router?

I've gone into my router settings and manually set an IP using the MAC address. Nothing changes. I've even manually set the IP and entered the IP, subnet, gateway and dns but nothing seems to work My box is gay.

My router is connected to the telephone line using an extension (no way for it to reach the box) even then all my other hardware connect perfectly. I don't know if that could be the problem. Router is connected to the box using an RJ45.

unplug the box cable from the box and plug that into a pc/laptop, if the pc/laptop connects you know that cable/connection method is ok and the prob will be with the box itself somewhere.
