Default Hard Drive Issue/StarView 7

Hi, just got a starview 7 set it up all working as should but connect my external harddrive and it come up saying error so went into the settings and it says unsupported? ive tryed connecting it to my laptop and it says its connectted but its not in my computer? any ideas? thanks

you have to format the hdd , if its ntfs then change that to fat32 so the starview can see it.
i have a terabyte hdd that needed the format changing but now the pc , sv box and ps3 all see it and are happy to use it as fat32.

to convert use google theres free software for that job out there.

not sure why yr pc isnt seeing the drive might be a connection issue there, try it in a different usb port or on a different pc.

got my pc to see it now and formatted to ntfs but ive been trying for over an hour to format it to fat32 and cant find a program that will work with windows 7, ive tried swissknife not wont work wiv win7

You need to format it on the box there should be an option on it for doing that, look in the menu.
