Default transfering software from box

Hi all and thamk you for any help i may get up front.
I have a starview 7 from a friend who has his own server. I was wondering if there is a way of transfering the software from this box to another starview 7 so as to stay on his server rather than starviews.
I would ask my mate but he charges a fortune to do it for me. (so called mate haha).

if you want to use a private share then the SV is no of no good to you mate.

The software has the embedded server details into it. And there is no way of changing that. Which means your forced to use the public server of SV.

you would need to get a DM box if you want that to work.

i already have a starview though mate which is working off my mates server. i was just wondering if there was a way of transfering software between boxes so they both work off his server if that makes any sense.

how do you know this box is working off your mates server?
at the moment starview boxes are down due to a starview server problem, so im assuming yours is working fine ? as u say it doesnt use the public server.

we are very sceptical about things here on the forum and recently after the mendi saga we believe nothing unless its proven facts only.

lol gotta say one thing about mendi, his loyalty to his mate was very admirable, even though it turned out his mate was full of cowpoo, mendi kept it going and going defending what he had been told.

these are the kind of people we need fighting for our country! tell them to run in shooting and off they go, no questions asked!

the op will of course come back and show us evidence of his mates share and give us all a copy of the firmware fromt his amazing box!! lol.

actually if it could be done in the way he says id allready be doing it and have a nice little share going with everyone that has bought svs round here through me.

Thats absoutely impossible mate because the firmware which is used for the starpoos are very closed sourced and there no way u can edit serve detail, hense you have to buy a new box every 12 months.

So unless as mentioned you have a starview combo which is a dual tuner box (cable & sat) then thats the only way you would be using a private share mate.

if you want a private share then i advice you get a DM box with a cable tuner and find someone who has a server which you can join.

Same applies with the KV boxes as well. you cant edit the firmware detail in way shape or form.

Because if you could then am sure everyone would have been doing that by now and bypassing the Expiry on the starview boxes, hense joining a different server etc etc. And that would just defeat the whole purpose of having a public server.

In regards to all this seeing as the server is facing a down time at this moment in time, am sure peeps would have swicthed servers by now and got there viewing back. Also if that was the case they wouldnt be facing any glictching / freezing / missing channels and what not.

Fact of the matter is that you cant use any other server apart from what is provided to you by the SV team, and you cant modify the firmware in anyway shape or form.

Kind regards

Hope this explains everything!!!!
