scanrite will try and repair bad sectors or relocate data to a good sector.

if there is data you want to get off the drive, then there are data retrieval progs on hirens boot disc, if one fails try another, but dont depend on that drive, it will do the same again. cya gl.

The data is gone but I am not all that fussed to be honest because I can get it all again. I think the only thing I lost which I could have done with is a couple of pictures from a family gathering but i'm sure my mum has copies of them somewhere .
