Default Starview Combo HD

Couple of questions for them in the know .

Just bought one of these boxes for a nice price ( bloke had it for cable and just wants rid because he does not want to go down sat route )

1. How much for me to set up for SAT side ?

2. How much should i ask if i want to sell it on , to people who like the sat side .

P.S Seen it working when server was up
and picture was top grade for HD .

P.P.S Also had one couple of weeks back and bought for £90 and sold for £140 ( went very quick )

So what's the deal , try the sat or side or let it go to someone who is clued up ??

HI mate, as it is not a Linux based box it will not be possible to use it like them so I would not think it would be of much use outside their own servers and as the upload side of things has been busted there is not much you can do with it, that is about as much as I can say about it, and is only my opinion, someone might know different though. It would do you for the UK free HD channels, BBC 1 HD, BBC HD and ITV HD. I am not even sure if the box can drive a dish or not, be stupid if it did not though, so you could avail of any FTA HD channel if you have a motorised dish and the box is capable of driving it.

Regards Wez

I was not aware that the combo was a Linux box, but it might well be. i have a non Linux sat box which is supposed to be OK for CS, but take my word for it, there is little can be done with it. I will take the advice from you guys as I have never seen one of the boxes let alone read their description, which i will now go and do. Thanks for correcting me lads.

you can find a server on the net for as little as £12 a month to as much as £40 per month.
theres a lot of choice but cant discuss that on here.
its similar to the cable side really only you go private.
imo best box out there is the combo, gives me no trouble at all, and as far as the software being updated etc it doesnt really matter as my server for instance supplies a line and i input that using the remote, job done.

regards dave

The HD Combo is not Linux but does support CCcam like the Spiderbox. I've seen servers from £10 per Month - ask about a Spiderbox friendly server, it sometimes helps.
