Is the starview carling file open source?

You are right I am not a programmer. The area of my interest would be to learn how this box communcates to server. What details are in the Carling file and what is in the boot file for the box? It's just curiosity.

i assume that if you could open the flash, edit the flash n re-flash the box (whole load of flashing going on) you could then access a service from another server that may happen to be functioning--theoretically?

all you would need is a larger rain mac to achieve all that flashing!lol

Listen guys it's all a learning curve for me.

1 step at a time.

I'm not saying for a second that as soon as I know how to open the firmware I have a fix.

It's to understand the concept more for me and maybe on this great forum inspire some other members to possibly work on a future solution.

If no can help no worries guys I'm not bitter.
