Hi All,
I had a eurovox a couple of years ago, anyway, I'm interested in the KV A780. Before I decide on wether to purchase or not I have a few Q's. 1) My main Q. is, do you set it up the same as a eurovox? by this I mean cables/leads wise. I intend to have the KV set up in the bedroom just like my old eurovox where I had the Verm!m cable signal from the wall (sorry unsure of the tech. term?) then I had a splitter with 1 going to the eurovox and the other to my modem for the internet. If it is different could I have some explanations please? 2) Will it pick up PPV channels (mainly wanted for boxing events) 3) Am I likely to get 12+ months usage out of the box (talk of the servers and longlivity of the boxes) 4) Is the risk of getting caught the same, higher or lower than the eurovox? (any precautions to take?) think thats it for now thank You

2 At the present time you do get PPV only for the big fights which can be withdrawn without notice as these are paid for. 3 Well nobody can guarantee how long you will get how long did you think you would have got from your last box you buy the box you take the chance like us all at the end of the day 4 Same risk as before. 5 And as its the only cable box working at the present time there is no choice, except going Sat side

Sorry I just want to get it right + I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to tech. terms and connections and the like, so...
What do you mean I need a net and a cable connection? I have the internet connection coming from the wall which goes to my Verm!n broadband modem which goes into my wireless router. So to set the KV up I will need to split the signal from the wall, 1 going into the KV and the other to the modem, same as the eurovox. But additionally I will have to have an ethernet cable pluged in from my KV to the wireless router? Is this correct, can someone confirm this is correct, if not can they correct me? |

you will need the same cable you had for your eurovox to the new box (virgin cable)
you will also need a connection from your router to the box also rj45 connection, you can use homeplugs if your router is too far away from your box And if you dont have a providers box well what can i say, hope you dont have a signal issue after you split your feed.

What clio1 says in #5, then as far as you are concerned its the same as your old EV. Except that .. .. after the initial ' flash ' any updates on the KV are via your remote control, on your old box they were via the USB stick or putting numbers in manually.
