Default Is cable (and sat) leaching becoming too easy?

Im just thinking its all become to easy...

Im new to this tv game, but compaired to the excitment of circumventing other 'systems' this seems to be little to no fun, requiring little to no understanding of how the 'system' works.

Kryptview being a prime example (buy, flash, plug, watch) and sat being not far off that.

It amazes me the lack of effort required for these activities.

Maybe its just me...

Improved technology has made it easier, I haven't used my card, or cam, programmer for some time now, nearly everything is done via a USB stick.

We are never going to return to the days of D2Mac, and dial up internet, where only a few of us were interested in the hobby, and the satellite forums were small and only visited by true enthusiasts, but Linux based receivers has created a new culture and there is still a lot to learn, and enjoy, with the hobby, not least finding obscure satellite feeds, and channels, on foreign satellites.

standard good business model. Make your product accessible to all. simples, that's how it should be.

[QUOTE=jack08;577720]spoon fed springs to mind with cable boxes etc since day 1

I paid full subs on sky for years, was paying over £70 a month and very happy with the service. About a year before N3 came out I did buy a box which was plug and play and again I was happy even more than happy not paying over £70 a month. Then N3 came and I had no free tv. I read and read this forum and wanted to go with a dish/motor box and card. That all added up to over £1,000, so with no knowledge of the sat side I did not want to go into something I might not of able to get working properly and decided at that time to spend £160 on something I knew would work sort of ok, believe me so far I have took my best option and still happy with the few problems I get each day.
Spoon fed or spending wisely

Yes, it has !

When it moved out of the 'hobbyist' domain and into mainstream it was pretty obvious things had gone far too far. To a large extent, this was really the fault of the old 'card dealers' making the whole thing accessible to all in order to make quick money, as well as various forums for continuously pushing to make things public that really shouldn't of been made public. Certainly, for a while, it was amazing to watch how quickly a techie could fall from grace simply because he chose not to share something he had discovered with the general forum population (most of who were unable to grasp the importance of that discovery anyway).

Only when your "product" is legal.

I don't understand how Kryptview and Starview have kept going for so long without being stopped. Certianly they are in it for a quick buck, which isn't a good business model in my book.
