Default Finally bought a kryptview A-780

Well after weeks of thinking about it I have finally bought a kryptview a780 and get it delivered on Monday.
Just wondered are these easy to flash even for amateurs and can anything go wrong to break the box.
I have read how to update it at the top of this thread, is this just the same as flash co that looks pretty easy.
Any advice would be great thanks

if you have an actual com port then it will be easy. if you plan on using one of them usb to rs232 adaptors then you will proably have trouble flashing.

Yes it is, and if you screw up we're all here.

- just make sure you use a proper DB9 RS232 Serial Null Modem Cable
- and use a COM port on a PC not a USB to COM dongle on a Laptop

Its unusual for anything other than a very expensive top end Lappie, or a 12 year old Lappie to have a COM port .. .. .. what you may be looking at is a MONITOR out port on your lappie.

Half your [ trusted ] mates have a PC, as do your neighbours, as stated use a PC if you can.

NOTE. MONITOR [ analogue ] out is yet one more [ different again ] DB9 port - told you it was confusing, just use a PC mate .. ..

- they do / can / sometimes / work on a USB to COM then COM to COM with the correct drivers, though Win7 can give you a bad case of Rectal Angina.

Best PC is an old WinXP

So other than that is it a simple process to do.
How long should it take?

- seconds .... , if you can read, it tells you on the puter screen and on the front of the box what it's doing !
- once you've clicked the mouse its out of your hands anyway, just don't shi¬` yourself, leave it to do its ' Ting and you will be ok !
