Default A780 pre-purchase questions

As my starview HD combo is now useless to me (no sat dish) the only option I have is the Kryptview, but wanted to know if I can set it up to feed 2 TV's like my combo does.
I currently use the HDMI output for the lounge TV and the scart output to an RF modulator which feeds the bedroom TV via the coax cable connected to the modulator.

I know the KV doesn't have HD, but my old Eurovox max v used to be able to feed 2 TV's. Can the KV?

I'm guessing Lincsat is the best person to buy from.

Thanks

PS on another note, I was looking at going legit until I saw VM's prices and also surprised that the UK allows VM to have complete monopoly on cable TV! I thought we had anti monopoly laws in this country?

hey reiss.... from what ive seen the kv has two scart outputs so two tvs is possible, you could also get an av sender and one of those can feed as many receivers as you like, i think the kv also has video out in phono form so that could be useful.
the only question in my mind is how long before the kv gets hit like sv have been?
ffing shame you can go down the sat route tho! but i know u cant have a dish... so how much do you want for the combo?
actually form my combo i have a feed for upstairs that runs off a split scart as i have a little monitor downstairs next tot he laptop so i cna watch tv on that as well as the big tv, so on mine i have in fact 4 tvs running from the one box, i dont see no reason why you couldnt do similar with the kv.

of course every time u split u lower pic quality but its sd anyway so wont make much difference.

good luck with the kv i really hope it gives you years of pleasure!!!

regards dave

thanks quavis,
Just need to run 2 TV's.
Lincsat works out at £145 + £10 delivery (with 5% forum discount applied) but have had a better offer of £135 with delivery.
Might keep the combo for now, there is talk of a shared sat dish being installed on our building and would much prefer to pay a c/s sat sub than rely on a free cable server that could go off at any moment.

If I did flog the combo, do you think £150 is a good price? all boxed and like new.

By the way, is there such a thing as a cloned KV A780? I know you had to be careful in the past buying SV's

Cheers

yeah 150 it would go for that, but saying that there is an openbox s9 hd on ebay going for £100 and thats very similar to the sat side on the combo so you might struggle at anything above that price!.
see i considered going down the kv route but cable sc like you say is a little hit and miss at least with a sat share if my man goes down i just find another and keep going like that... i have a mate in yarmouth is setting up a share on his system too so can always get a line from him too.
lets hope the shared dish is sorted at yr end so you can get yr channels back on!

lol i just checked and lincsat is still showing the sv7 on his site and its in stock! i hope hes not activeley selling them still!

regards dave

What you have to consider with all c/s its not just a case of if the server operator gets caught or the server goes down. All providers and encryption providers are currently looking at ways of stopping cardshare alltogether and who knows maybe it will be nds that finds the answer first. They have had succesful countermeasures on the sky italian side albeit they've been easily overcame very quickly, but whats to say the next one wont be the killer blow. So just because one operator i.e. starview has been caught and brought down doesnt mean kryptview is going to be anytime soon. Starview was found by pure accident and in contrast tons of sat c/s servers have been found and closed. I prefer sat myself as if and when it does end i have a decent freesat motorized system to use whereas with cable you got a handful of channels if that goes down.

If they do decide to allow sat dishes on our building, I might as well keep hold of the Combo.
Thanks anyway.
