Default replacement hard drive

Hi there, not sure if this is the right section, my PVR (Freeview) hard drive is faulty and needs replaced, its a 160GB and was never more than 50% full, the box had a power supply problem and some caps were replaced so its a freeview box until I get a new drive, looking on advice as to what and where to get, maybe an oppertunitey to up the memory.

Thanks in advance

Hi there again, can anyone tell me the size, name and type of hard drive in the Thomson DTI 6300 (about 4 yrs old) I now need this info before i can get a local quote or source it on the internet. I dont have the box as the caps have been fixed and I have to pick it up when I get the chance.

Thanks in advance

I tried your link and it sounds like the one I need but i noticed that they have been used before so don't know about reliability
but for £20 surely can't go wrong

Thanks again

The box is alive, have missed it the last 2 weeks, it cost £25 to fix the caps and install the new hard drive its working but no series link yet and one or two recording bugs but expect to iron them out or should I say work my way around them!

Cheers

You need a SATA to USB adapter, you can find them fairly cheap on eBay. One of my college friend recently bought one for £6 inc. P & P.
