I have just been looking at the a&e channel website and as i was browsing, i came across a site that offers tv streaming through the internet and claims to offer over 3500 channels including channels from america like A&E and the fox channel that i assume would be part of a package in the USA like Sky 1 is in britain.
So what i am wondering has anyone ever purchased anything like this, is it possible to get premiun channels like sky 1 or fox as part of a one off £38 fee, or is the channel list just full of rubbish that you would regret paying for when looking at it, they dont even let you see the channel list or programes before you sign up. Is there a free version that would have decent channels and programs, or is it all just fake. I have come across others before claiming the same thing but dnt know of anyone that has actually signed up for it. So im looking for any info about what you actually get for your money and what is the quality like Thanks in advance for any info |

Hello adamf154
I am an American and have purchased satellite TV on PC packages...they even have them for you mobile phones now. My experience with them is that, yes they do offer great shows and I can get loads of premium and sports channels, whatever country or sport that I am interested in. Though most companies offer a one time fee, they are not international or they forget to explain to you of their short promotional period. The most import aspect of watching tv on your pc, or laptop in my case, is to have a fast internet connection. Sometimes when I use Wi-Fi, the picture gets distorted and pauses...even more so with HD shows. Sam23 Last edited by sam23; 16-10-11 at 07:21 AM. Reason: removed http://tvforlaptop.info |

I cant speak about the service thats mentioned but I did try a similar service a while back (in beta so free
) and it functioned remarkably well considering it was streaming from the USA.There were some problems at peak times due to the transatlantic internet cables getting congested but most of the time it was ok with channels streaming in Mpeg4 at around 1Mbps. Before you part with any cash, i'd definately be inclined to email the company and ask for a proper channel list. If they cant or wont give you that then i'd be inclined to stay well clear. For a one off payment I doubt you'll get any premium type channels (at least not for anything more than an introductory period). It will probably be lots of local public service channels and maybe the normal fta channels plus some 'homegrown' channels of the more wacky kind. Last edited by TheCoder; 19-10-11 at 01:28 AM. |
