Can old hit modems come back to life?

Hi all,

About 2 years ago my Ambit (VM) went down. The chap who we got it off gave up flashing them as they went down faster then he could get them up. lol. However, is it ture old 20 mb flashed modems can get re sync'ed after time ?

When it happened i started looking into flashing them myself and ordered a max232 off ebay ( THe chap who flashed it would not give password for telnet ) but i got ripped off and this item did not turn up.

So, 2 years later i'm thinking do i plug the modem in and give it a try.

Order a max232 kit and try again what i started two years ago?

I don't think their is a way to hack the telnet password is there?

any good places to get the stuff i need to finish what i started 2 years ago?

you could always make a max233 from parts from maplins or simular .

its always worth testing something for yourself .

if all else fails at least you have learnt what dont work .

follow a tutorial for your modem model and good luck .
