HP and Packard Bell suffered with graphics overheating resulting in the graphics chip needing to be re flowed (soldered) it is a very common problem you normally get 1 long and 2 short bleeps ive had loads of the HP DV series with this problem and in fact HP did a recall and changed the Bios to make the fan run faster to stop this happening, i think google may be your friend here search for common problems.

Check that your Hard drive is connected properly and also go into the Bios and make sure that the first boot device is not set to CDROM. Inside your desktop the PSU (power supply Unit) As I mentioned before in my post that its your PSU that needs replacing, which is why your machine is shutting itself down. Also over heating would cause this problems as well.. you need to check your Tempratures from the BIOS.

Usually that message will only come on if your HDD is loose.

My guess would be that you didn't connect the power cables from the borrowed PSU (power block) to the hard disk. No power to hard disk = no boot media.

Now What psu to get????.........

just get any 500watt PSU mate as they all can do the job just fine.

Only thing is that just make sure you know how many PIN your ATX connector takes. Usually its 24 pins anyway and if you wanted a 20 pin then you can always take off the 4 pins and make it into a 20 pin.

Otherwise no point buying a fancy PSU for like 60 quid when a cheap one does a perfectly fine job.

Ebuyer have one for like 16 quid on there site. (Sumvision)

Oh and make sure you check how many Sata connectors you need as well with that PSU, otheewise you will need to get the molex to sata converter.
