Heard about these lately, I can't get cable in my area and currently have Sky, was wondering what exactly this Spiderbox is and does and what the gifts mean? Will it work if I cancel sky etc?

The Spiderbox, nor any other receiver, will provide you with any Sky channels, or any extra channels on Astra 2, 28.2E.

Have a read through the satellite sections sticky threads, especially threads regarding motorized dishes, and you will see that there are a lot of other satellites, and packages, apart from Sky.
